Paternity test.  The words bring to mind images of the rich and famous, celebrities like Anna Nicole Smith for example.  But paternity testing is not just for the rich and famous.  People you might consider “average” in terms of finances or social status can also have access to paternity testing though the use of home paternity tests.

You might think that paternity tests are just for those cases where the paternity of a child is in question.  That probably is the biggest reason a person would purchase and use a home paternity test.  There are other people who can benefit from the use of a home paternity test.  An adoptee, for example, searching for their birth parents can utilize a home paternity test to see if in fact they have found their biological parents.

With the advent of home paternity testing, you can quickly and privately have the answers you seek.  Depending on the reason you are purchasing and using a paternity test you have several options available.  You can take what you could call a “curiosity test” where you just want to know for yourself the results of the test, never to share with anyone else.  Or you can take a test that adheres to a strict chain of custody, where the results can be admissible in a court of law in custody or child support cases.  (Check with your local laws first to be sure the test you use can be admissible in your state courts.)
