If you’re reading this web site then chances are you are interested in purchasing a home paternity test for your use.  Before you go ahead and purchase a test take a few minutes to think about what you are going to do.  You might just be opening a can of worms.  Are you ready to deal with the emotional repercussions that might come from your test results?

We’re not telling you to take a test or not take a test.  What we are saying is this:  the results you get from your home paternity test might not be the results you are looking for.  Are you ready to deal with the possibility that this child is not your child, or that the man you thought was the biological father to your child is not the father?

Don’t forget that the results of a home paternity test have implications for the child as well, especially if the child is old enough to understand what is going on in the process.  Are you ready, willing and able to support this child through the emotional upheaval that might come from learning the results of your home paternity test?

If you are emotionally prepared to deal with the outcome of your home paternity test then by all means go ahead and take it.  If you are not ready to deal with the outcome then perhaps you’re not ready to purchase a home paternity test for use, or maybe you might want to speak with a counselor to help you work through the emotions that come along with the results of these tests.
